The Association of Veterinary Students (AVS) is the representative body and the ‘voice’ of veterinary students in the UK and Ireland. It is also a division of the British Veterinary Association (BVA). AVS acts as a link between the 8 veterinary schools in the UK and Ireland and brings us all together as one student body. They are committed to representing their members and giving veterinary student opinion on financial, education and welfare issues.

The Cambridge reps, Ellie Drabble and Lauren Mort, attend meetings throughout the year, so if there is something you want us to take and discuss let one of us know! You can also get involved and air your opinions or share your experiences by writing for JAVS, the journal written by vet students for vet students.

Coming up in Lent term is AVS congress – hosted by us on January 27th – 29th and definitely not to be missed. A great opportunity to learn, meet new people and enjoy a weekend to remember.

If you have any AVS-related question, you can email Ellie (Senior Rep) or you can check out our website www.avsukireland.co.uk, find us on Facebook https://m.facebook.com/AVS.UK.Ireland (national) and https://www.facebook.com/groups/903986972985789/?fref=ts (Cambridge) or follow us on Twitter @AVS_UK_Ireland.
