CUVZS is a student run society dedicated to all things exotic and wildlife based. We hold weekly talks at the vet school, usually on a Thursday evening featuring cakes, snacks or pizza and some practicals throughout the year! With more exotic pets presenting in vet practices, deer and alpaca farms appearing across the country, and increasing numbers of vet students becoming interested in working abroad with wildlife or in zoos, we aim to provide both opportunities to learn about how to treat these fascinating creatures and advice on how to get into a career in this diverse field. Saying this, exotics medicine is relevant to almost all vets, so you don’t have to be keen on exotics to benefit from CUVZS talks and events! Highlights for the upcoming term include talks from the Born Free Foundation and an elephant osteopath, along with a couple speaking about EMS abroad!
