CUVZS is a student-run society dedicated to all things exotic. We hold weekly talks at the vet school, usually on Wednesday or Thursday evenings, from renowned speakers across the UK (and always featuring drinks and cake!). With more and more exotic pets arriving in first opinion vet practices, deer and alpaca farms appearing across the country, and many vet students being interested in working in zoos or with wildlife, we provide an opportunity to learn more about how to treat these fascinating creatures, as well as providing advice on how to get into a career in this diverse field. Exotics medicine is relevant to nearly all vets, so you don’t have to be mad keen on exotics to benefit from CUVZS talks and events! Highlights of the upcoming year will include talks on wildlife work experience, exotics pathology, and the basics of psittacine medicine, as well as practicals on forensic pathology and bird of prey husbandry, and much more!
